Decisions and action items are <strong>bolded<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Business Focused Meeting: Thursday, July 25, 2019, 4:00 PM \u2013 5:00 PM<\/h3>\n<p>Proposed Agenda Items: ADPCA 2020, ADPCA 2021, Treasurer\u2019s Report, Treasurer\u2019s Resignation, Renaissance, Communal Archive Proposal, Person-Centered Journal (PCJ) Resignation, Membership Report, Charitable Contribution, Listserv, ADPCA Preservation<\/p>\n<p>I. ADPCA 2020 \u2013 Sarah Welton found a location at Linfield College in McMinnville, OR; however, she is unsure about committing to planning the entire conference.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">a. Discussion about how to move forward with having an Annual Meeting (required by the bylaws) with or without a Conference.<\/p>\n<h3>Community Meeting: Thursday, July 25, 2019, 6:30 PM \u2013 9:30 PM<\/h3>\n<p>Discussion about the duties involved with open positions within the organization.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Bert Rice described the duties of the ADPCA Treasurer, which include:\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Managethe bank and PayPal accounts,<\/li>\n<li>Complete an Annual Report to present at the ADPCA annual meeting,<\/li>\n<li>File ADPCA tax documents,<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the organization\u2019s nonprofit status by working with our attorney to file each year the appropriate document with the Illinois Secretary of State.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Hosting ADPCA Conferences in 2020 and in 2021, which includes, for each year,\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Locate venue \/ meeting rooms,<\/li>\n<li>Setting prices,<\/li>\n<li>Set schedule, 4.<\/li>\n<li>Advertising,<\/li>\n<li>Host is ADPCA President for the year.i<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Renaissance Newsletter Editor, which includes\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Gather article submissions,<\/li>\n<li>Format Newsletter,<\/li>\n<li>Printing \/ Mailing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>PCJ Editor, which includes,\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Gather article submissions,<\/li>\n<li>Format journal,<\/li>\n<li>Printing \/ Mailing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Business Focused Meeting: Friday, July 26, 2019, 1:00 PM \u2013 3:00 PM<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<ol>\n<li>Person-Centered Journal\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Marge Witty and Jerome Wilczynski are resigning as co-editors of the PCJ.<\/li>\n<li>All back issues of PCJ are available at the ADPCA website<\/li>\n<li>Jo Cohen offered to edit issue 25 and issue 26 of the PCJ.\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Marge Witty offered to stay on as an associate editor to assist with the transition.<\/li>\n<li>It would be ideal if future editors would stay on for a 2-year commitment or possibly overlap incoming and outgoing editors for smoother transitions (*no action taken in this item).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Action: Bert Rice moves to accept Jo Cohen as editor of the Person-Centered Journal.<\/strong>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>i. Seconded: Jin Wu<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Passed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>ADPCA 2020 (continued)\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Ashley Allcorn proposed that ADPCA 2020 be held in Chicago with support from Chicago Counseling Associates \u2013 Dates \/ Location TBA<\/li>\n<li><strong>Action: Bert moves to accept Ashley\u2019s proposal to host the 2020 Annual Meeting.<\/strong>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Seconded: Kathy Moon<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Passed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Treasurer Position\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Laura Lauko proposed that she become treasurer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Action: Sarah Solis moves to accept Laura\u2019s proposal to take over as Treasurer.<\/strong><\/li>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Seconded: Margaret Warner<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Passed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Treasurer\u2019s Report\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Bert read the Treasurer\u2019s Report in full. (***See attached.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Communal Archive Proposal\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Ashley discussed a proposal to digitize and preserve the archives from theChicago Counseling and Psychotherapy Center. (***See attached.)<\/li>\n<li>Discussion on storage and distribution of digital material in later phases of theproject \u2013 too early in project to have final decisions on this.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Action: Margaret moves to accept the Communal Archive Proposal as written.<\/strong>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Seconded: Bert<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Passed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Business Focused Meeting: Saturday, July 27, 2019, 2:30 PM \u2013 4:00 PM<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Renaissance Newsletter\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Leslie Spencer is resigning as editor of the Renaissance<\/li>\n<li>Sarah Solis and Tristan Grove are interested in co-editing the Renaissance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Action: Bert moves to accept Sarah Solis and Tristan Grove as co-editors of the Renaissance newsletter.<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>iSeconded: Jin<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Passed <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Charitable Donation\n<ol>\n<li>Jo reported that the Keith Haring Foundation (www.Haring.com) allowed the ADPCA 2019 Conference to utilize his artwork for free. It would typically cost $450 to use his artwork on promotional materials.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Action: Jo moves to make a charitable donation to the Keith Haring Foundation of 10% of the profit from the ADPCA 2019 Conference (profit above seed money).<\/strong><\/li>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Seconded: Bert<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Passed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Community Meeting: Saturday, July 27, 2019, 4:00 PM \u2013 7:00 PM<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>Business Listserv\n<ol>\n<li>Kathy discussed the possibility of creating another Listserv that members could use to discuss theory and practice but also wondered about using the current business listserv for that purpose.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Action: Kathy moves to convert the business listserv to include discussions about theory and practice.<\/strong><\/li>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Seconded: Jo<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Kathy withdrew her motion after discussion<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>***ADPCA 2021 was not formally discussed outside of the need to find a host. There were no volunteers to host at this year\u2019s conference. Possibilities were discussed that included the United Kingdom and Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>***The Membership Report was not formally discussed. Jessica Shipman prepared a report as follows: 192 current \/ recently lapsed members (75% regular membership, 11% supporting membership, 12 % student membership, 2% scholarship).
