ADPCA Conference

ADPCA Annual Conference

The ADPCA Conference is a unique way to experience and learn about the PCA (Person-Centered Approach) and CCT (Client-Centered Therapy). It happens annually and aims to provide opportunity for self and professional development in an atmosphere where participants can freely express themselves. The experiential side of the conference combines daily large community meetings (encounter groups) and regular small groups, both being a central part of the conference. The academic quality is also very present and consists of person-centered practitioners, trainers and students from different cultural and professional backgrounds sharing workshops, presentations, discussion groups and/or practical demonstration sessions. At the conference, we also have ADPCA Business Meetings where matters related to the Association are openly addressed, discussed and decided in a democratic way. ADPCA does not have a hierarchical structure like in traditional associations, so all members have the right to share their views and equally have a say in the decision making process. The annual Business Meetings are where official functional decisions regarding the association are made. Non-members participating in the conference are also welcome to join these meetings.

2018 Conference

July 25, 2018 (Wed) TO July 29, 2018 (Sun)

Sheraton Atlanta Hotel
165 Courtland Street Ne
Atlanta, GA 30303
United States

Please put the above conference dates in your calendar. We chose the Sheraton because of its central location. It also had meeting space for our dates. There is an airport shuttle ($20). Also, you can take the subway (MARTA) from the airport to within a block or two of the Sheraton hotel.

The Sheraton group rate ($145) including tax. Kenny is talking with someone to see if he can get that lowered, however, there are many hotels nearby and within walking distance that may be less expensive. It has up to 4 meeting rooms that we can use. We may not need that many. Each meeting room is $250.

We also checked with the Hampton Inn and LaQuinta Inns. Their rates were lower but neither had meeting space for our dates. Also, neither would let us conduct workshops in regular rooms. Also, GA State University did not have meeting space available for our dates.

Please send in ideas for workshops and resumes as soon as possible so that the CEU applications. In addition, we will always have room for spontaneous presentations as need arises.

We are excited about meeting in Atlanta and hope that each if you will feel welcome and want to come.

Please, send workshop proposals and resumes to either: (or)
